Our early 19th century Gothic style Chapel is a beautiful and unique venue
The Chapel is only a few minutes’ walk from the house, yet offers complete seclusion. It affords guests total tranquillity and privacy; it is warm and welcoming in winter and pleasantly cool in summer. Its soaring ceiling, commanding interior and imposing stone fireplace complete with wood burning stove will not fail to impress your guests.
The building was originally constructed as a museum in the style of a chapel and has consequently never been consecrated, making it ideal for civil ceremonies. The chapel also makes an exceptional venue for a drinks reception for up to 100 guests, or a wedding breakfast for 60. It is also a fantastic shelter in which to capture stunning photographs during wet weather.
For Private Occasions and Corporate Events
The Chapel would lend itself well to many types of private occasion and corporate hospitality event. For an authentically Gothic atmosphere to a Murder Mystery evening or a Medieval banquet, playing host to glamourous Casino nights, team building activities or craft workshops, the Chapel is a truly versatile space – either stand alone or in combination with events elsewhere within the estate.
The chapel is centrally heated, equipped with mini kitchen and toilet facilities, and is within easy walking access from the main house and orangery. With an approximate internal area of 620 sq ft the Chapel will seat 70-80 guests and is suitable for standing receptions up to 100.
