The Park & Gardens


Bridwell’s gardens and parkland offer extensive and versatile outdoor space. Principally a peaceful haven of unspoiled views within the tranquil heart of Devon, they are equally ideal for outdoor leisure pursuits, outdoor events to include concerts and shows, and team building activities.

Plentiful space is also available for the erection of marquees for weddings, parties and corporate events. Bridwell is enviably located in the centre of 100 acres of 18th century parkland. Two driveways approach the house through the deer park, from westerly and southerly directions, giving a tantalising view of the beautiful landscape to be discovered within the estate.

House Gardens

Outside the conservatory is a large lawn with seating, framed by balustrades affording splendid views over the deer park and hills beyond – a gorgeous spot for house party guests to take breakfast or afternoon tea, share drinks and canapés, or savour a luxury picnic hamper.

The gardens close to the Orangery and Chapel provide a tranquil area to relax with your fellow guests or just escape with a book!

A tennis court is available for guests’ use a short distance from the main house.

A large ornamental lake lies immediately to the south of the main house, perfect for picnics or idling away an afternoon under the shade of the trees, or perhaps a spot of guide-led fishing.

The Park

Bridwell Park’s 100 acre estate provides the perfect location for outdoor events and team building activities.

Falconry displays, fly casting, 4 x 4 Experiences, low sound/velocity clay shooting, archery, giant Jenga towers, team building challenges and hot air ballooning are just some of the great activities that can be arranged in conjunction with our preferred Devon based pursuits specialist, Chris Farris Events.

Marquees

If you are planning a wedding reception, party or corporate event for more than 150 guests, Bridwell has several dedicated areas in the parkland for the erection of marquees.

Practical solutions include, three phase power, a mains gas hook up and a connection to waste management tanks within designated areas of the park.

Our highly experienced approved suppliers will be happy to provide a bespoke quotation for your requirements, giving you complete flexibility to achieve the most attractive and practical arrangement to suit the nature of your event.

Luxury ‘under canvas’ accommodation

Should your numbers of overnight guests exceed the 20 maximum who can be accommodated in the main house, we encourage you to explore the fun, exciting alternative of superior, serviced glamping tents within the park!

Bridwell is fortunate to have an excellent partnership with innovative companies to include Native Outdoors  and the Pop Up Hotel who offer luxurious ‘under canvas’ accommodation combined with all the benefits you might expect from a first class hotel.

Linens, duvets and pillows, lighting, toiletries, bathrooms, furniture, absolutely everything has been thought of for an all year round enjoyable experience. Any need or budget can be accommodated with a selection of room options available, frame or inflatable luxury beds, wooden floors, rugs, clothes storage, mirrors, and so much more.
