About Bridwell House and Deer Park

Bridwell is a stunning new exclusive use venue in Devon, offering a perfect location and flexible, easily accessed private facilities for weddings, private parties, corporate events, meetings, conferences and location filming.

A haven of peace and tranquillity, and yet Bridwell is ideally located less than 1 mile from Junction 27 of the M5, and only 2 miles from the mainline rail station at Tiverton Parkway.

The home of Lord Ivar Mountbatten

The much loved family home of Lord Ivar Mountbatten, Bridwell is a handsome, classic Georgian house, complete with an Orangery and Chapel, set within 100 acres of superbly landscaped late 18th century parkland that features an ornamental lake and magnificent views across the Culm Valley and rolling hills of Devon.

A brilliant choice of locations for your event

The house has five elegant reception rooms, with space for up to 60 guests in the larger rooms, and further meeting and recreational space on the lower ground floor.

Up to 20 guests can be accommodated in the ten spacious bedrooms overlooking the parkland.

The Orangery, situated close to the house, is one of several jewels in the crown at Bridwell, providing substantial self-contained meeting or entertaining space of approximately 255 sq metres (1,765 sq ft) in a most attractive building surrounded by south-facing gardens.

The 19th century Gothic style Chapel's impressive architecture belies the intimate atmosphere within. It is suitable for a broad range of events, including civil marriage ceremonies, leisure activities, meetings, dinners and drinks receptions - all within easy reach of the main house and the Orangery.

Bridwell's 100 acres of parkland, featuring an ornamental lake, tennis court, helipad and hangar, further supports an almost limitless set of opportunities for events. Marquee events, luxury ‘glamping’, concerts, shows or a huge range of outdoor activities are all perfectly possible.

Our award-winning Venison charcuterie

Bridwell’s herd of red and fallow deer roam freely in the park. Lord Ivar’s company A Touch of Hart, produces delicious fresh venison and organic venison charcuterie which our guests are warmly invited to sample and, if so desired, incorporate into a Bridwell menu. The cured meats, including bresaola and coriander & garlic salami have been launched to great acclaim, winning Gold awards with 'Taste of the West' and 'Food & Drink Devon' in 2014.

We invite you to visit our dedicated website pages for more detailed information on the house, the Orangery, the Chapel and the parkland.
